Shaw Company began as a star dye company almost 6 or 7 decades ago, which was producing tufted rugs. However, now a day it is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. of Dalton Georgia. Today Shaw has one of the largest manufacturing plants. According to a rough estimate, Shaw has round about 30,000 workers across the world manufacturing flooring products of worth more than four billion dollars per annum.
They are manufacturing more than 2500 different attractive designs with eye catching colours under the carpeting line of products to match with every kind of taste and budget. In short, people belonging to any social class can get their flooring products to bring colours and comfort in their lives.
According to a recent generated report, Shaw is manufacturing more than 600 million square yard of floor covering products every year. It will be enough to warp 6 feet wide strip around equator seven times. Shaw started after the Second World War as the Star Dye Company that was known as manufacturer of tufted scattered rugs. In 1967, it obtained the renowned Philadelphia Carpet and in the past 37 years, Shaw Carpets Co. has continued to diversify its business by acquiring new brands such as Cabin Crafts and Sutton.
They also merged with another carpet company called Queen Carpets.
Shaw has been taken lot of positive steps to enhance and develop its operational activities and to boost customer services. In 1998, Shaw expanded its business and introduced its ceramic line of product. During its life span, Shaw gave appreciable growth to business and established its own trucking subsidiary, regional distribution centers, modernized their plants and equipment, and improved their handling of waste and boost recycling. In 2001, Shaw carpet sold its ownership to Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
