This resilient carpet will prove to be far more superior as compared to other types of carpets. There is no such synthetic hand made stuff that can come close to the incredible characteristics of wool stuff.

Wool has superior rich look and feel. Wool is derived from sheep actually. There are basically two types of wool available in the market for carpets and rugs manufacturing.

These two types are as follows:

- Dead Wool
- Live Wool

As it is clear from their names, dead wool is cut after sheep dies. It is rustic and hard and rough because it has lost its natural oil. While live wool is sheered when the sheep is alive and has natural oil in the wool. So live wool is very soft and gives natural fine look. Normally live wool is very famous to use for carpet manufacturing as compared to dead wool.

Wool was also very famous and preferred material for Mangolian rugs as well. It was resilient, durable, easy to clean and much affordable as compared to silk rugs. Traditionally, Mongolian wool rugs used to be dyed only with specific organic colors derived from indigo, saffron, sumac, turmeric and pomegranate.

Along with the above mentioned amazing abilities of wool carpets, wool carpets also have natural ability to absorb and retain colours. Cleaning is also essential for optimum progress of your carpet. A cleaning schedule will help to extend the life of your carpet. Anyone who has a synthetic carpet should have the experience that synthetic carpets require frequent cleanings and after cleaning process, some synthetic fibers such as olefin, nylon and polyester actually develop graying in traffic areas and actually look worse than before they were cleaned. But this is not the case with the carpets made of natural stuff. It does not happen with wool carpets.
