Carpet Stretcher
A carpet stretcher is basically a tool which we use when we install carpet at our place. Installing your wall to wall carpet is not an easy job. Your knee and back should be in good condition to install a carpet on your own. Thus it is hard for your back and knees. You need a tool that is called carpet stretcher to finalize the installation process nicely. When one corner of carpet is fastened then you need to use the carpet stretcher to pull the carpet to the other wall. Before using this tool for wall to wall carpet installation, you must need to get knowledge how this tool works. A stretcher is what you use to pull the carpet correctly and pull it tight so that there are no bumps and creases in the carpet when it is laid flat. If you don’t use a stretcher, you may find that the carpet doesn’t lay flat and that over time it stretches even more.
Carpet stretcher is critical for long carpets of more than 10 feet. Put the base of the carpet stretcher at that corner which has been fastened first. Use a piece of scrap carpet to pad the wall. Sink the teeth of the stretcher into the carpet at the opposite wall about six inches from the edge. Press the lever on the Stretcher, pulling the carpet into the unfastened corner and attaching it to the tackles strips. Then use the Stretcher to fasten the corner opposite from the first corner installed. Once all the corners are fastened, work your way around the room, stretching and kick fastening the carpet along the walls, alternating sides and corners.
